Our Work in Sleepy Hollow

Citizens are concerned for Kingsland Point Park

  1. Four-story buildings next to the park will obstruct views and make park-goers feel hemmed in.

Scenic Hudson sees some potential solutions

  1. Reduce building heights to three stories.
  2. Sleepy Hollow should enhance residents’ waterfront enjoyment by restoring the park’s bathhouse and beach. Scenic Hudson also supports the village’s proposal to restore the historic 1883 lighthouse, just offshore of the park.

GM PlantParks need to be surrounded by sufficient open space.

“I think we definitely want to extend the use of Kingsland Point Park. Also, having an additional outlet for the Pocantico River allows another side of Kingsland Point to be opened up where people can actually walk down to the Hudson River. That particular kind of access to the river would allow for wading or launching kayaks.”
